  • Beak shaped shell cover inspires it’s name
  • Heart-shaped, green foliage turns “orange-red” in fall
  • Self-fertile, will produce significantly better with pollination from another hazelnut (Beaked, or American)
  • Thin strand yellow to gold male pollen tassels (flowers) are visible in Spring
  • Hazelnuts are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidant compounds and healthy fats
  • Produces fruit approximately 2-3 years after planting
  • Plant pollinators within 200’ or less, closer is better
  • Medium Growth Rate: 6-10”/year
  • Native to Manitoba
