Description
This columnar flowering crab’s main attraction is it’s pillar-like shape. It’s relatively short and narrow structure means it fits into any small yard. The leaves are dark green-copper and disease-resistant, and the spring flowers are pink-purple. It produces 1″ – 1.25″ apples that fall with the leaves and these apples are edible but a little tart (great for a pink jelly). We recommend using it as a special feature or as a hardy privacy hedge between neighbours in a sunny, well-drained area.
Also known as rosybloom crabapples, these work as a cross pollinator for any apple variety!
