- All apples grow best in a wind-sheltered area - Needs a sunny, well-drained location. - Drought tolerant once established; does not tolerate soggy soil - For best fruiting results, prune annually to avoid dense growth; ripening fruit needs lots of sunlight. - Requires a second different apple variety nearby for cross-pollination to produce a good yield - Apples are susceptible to fire blight; avoid mid-summer pruning
