Maple, Tatarian "Hot Wings"
Acer tataricum 'GarAnn'
An upright Tatarian Maple with flamboyant red seed pods make the tree look like it is blooming in August and September, seeds are viable but not aggressive in sod or soils. Like the amur maple, this tree tends to grow multi-stemmed from the ground up but can be pruned as a hedge or into a tree.

Maple, Tatarian "Rugged Charm"
Acer tataricum 'JFS-KW2'
Rugged Charm seems to have the most upright, uniform shape of the mid-sized maples. Fall colour ranges from gold to orange-red, and even some burgundy.

Oak, Bur
Quercus macrocarpa
Oaks take longer to grow to maturity but once their grown they live for a very long time. Burs are native to our river areas and are very hardy. Traditional oak leaves are dark green during the spring and summer and turn gold->burnt orange->brown in the fall.

Oak, Northern Pin "Shooting Star"
Quercus ellipsoidalis 'Durmarg'
This tree is grafted on to Bur Oak roots; so it has the hardiness and alkalinity tolerance of a Bur, but the faster growth rate of a Pin, along with fantastic red fall colour!

Pear, "Navigator"
Pyrus x 'DurPSN302'
This hardy pear variety is ornamental, and columnar in shape with gold-orange to red fall colour. The tree will be nearly fruitless unless grown with another type of pear, and if it does produce, the fruit is only suitable for wildlife.
