Thuja occidentalis 'Yellow Ribbon'
The golden glow of this cedar is a nice contrast to the standard green. Hardy inside fenced or hedged yards. It has a medium growth rate (5"-10" per year).

This red/purple-leafed shrub is beautifully contrasted by its light pink flowers in spring. Branch tips typically freeze in winter, but grows back from below the snow line.

This is the largest cherry on the prairies has dark red fruit 1.5” in size. Excellent for eating fresh or canned. This variety blooms one week later than other varieties and is self-pollinating. Very hardy.

Prunus x kerassis 'Juliet'
Juliet's 1" fruit is dark red, semi-sweet and great to eat fresh, baked, or canned. Glossy ornamental leaves sport white flowers in spring and yellow fall colour. This is a hardy plant that is also self-pollinating, more vigorous than Crimson Passion and has few suckers.

Cotoneaster, "Hedge"
Cotoneaster lucidus
Cotoneasters are one of the most popular hedge plants we sell, with attractive dark green glossy leaves, bright orange/red fall colour, and black berries that stay through the winter. These shrubs can be planted 18 - 24" apart for a tight hedge, and is a quick grower: 12" - 16" per year, and are very cold tolerant.

•Handles pruning extremely well and can be shaped; only prune in early spring or late fall to avoid fireblight
•In case of fireblight, the disease must be carefully pruned out as soon as you identify it, cutting ~4" past the diseased branches if possible

Cotoneaster, "Red-Berried"
Cotoneaster integerrimus?
Attractive dark green glossy leaves, with a white fuzzy underside. Bright red berries that stay through the winter are attractive to the birds. Branches will grow in a semi-weeping formation, but can be pruned into a specific shape or height. It tolerates pruning well and has a growth rate of 12" - 16" per year.

Cranberry, "Highbush"
Viburnum trilobum
This native shrub produces bright red fruit that is great for jams, jellies, juice or wine. Fruit ripens late summer. It is also considered an ornamental shrub because of the showy white blooms, maple shaped leaves and good red fall colour.

Currant, "Alpine"
Ribes alpinum
Shiny maple shaped leaves on a very dense, very cold tolerant shrub. There will be some small white flowers in spring although they are not very noticeable. There maybe a few small edible red fruit. Leaves will turn a rich gold colour in fall. It makes an excellent short hedge. Grows 6 - 10" a year.

Currant, "Black"
Ribes nigrum
This shrub produces tart-flavoured, 1/2" fruit. Black currants are good for eating fresh, jams, juices or wines. Fruit ripens in July. The fall colour is yellow, and it is very hardy.

•Cross-pollination with red, golden, or white currants help increase yield
•Black Currants are susceptible to mildew. A fungal spray may be needed to keep this in check.
