Honeyberry, "Honeybee"
Lonicera caerula 'Honeybee'
Honeybee is currently considered the best pollinator for honeyberries. Its fruit is edible but more tart than the best cultivars, and it is very cold hardy. For maximum results, one Honeybee can pollinate six other varieties (ie Borealis or Tundra).

Honeyberry, "Tundra"
Lonicera caerulea 'Tundra'
Tundra's fruit was ranked near the top of the University of Saskatchewan's flavour trials, firmer (but still tasty) and does not bleed from the stem when harvested. Honeyberries are similar to blueberries in terms of texture (not seedy), appearance (blue, but elongated), and Tundra's flavour is sweet and tart. It is very hardy and can also be used as an ornamental, full leafed shrub white/green flowers in spring.

Raspberry "Boyne"
Rubus 'Boyne'
Hardy and popular plants that will sucker. They will produce fruit in the second year after planting. The berries are large sweet and ripen between July 1 -20, giving you a 2 1/2 week picking period.

Raspberry, "Double Delight"
Rubus idaeus 'Double Delight'
Double Delight bears large red raspberries with excellent flavour. It is a primocane - bearing fruit both on last year's growth in the summer, and the current year's growth in the fall.

•If you only want a fall crop you can cut down the plants with a lawn mower, this will keep the plants from producing a crop during the summer, but is an easy way to rejuvenate the patch

Raspberry, "Fall Gold"
Rubus idaeus 'Fall Gold'
The Fall Gold raspberries taste mild compared to the red raspberries, and will produce a crop in the second year after planting. Fall Gold is a primocane - bearing fruit both on last year's growth in the summer, and the current year's growth in the fall.

The Mammoth Red is a newer plant that will produce fruit in the second year after planting. It has very large fruit and lots of it! Fruit also has the longest shelf life of all the Raspberries.

Raspberry, Black "Wyoming"
Rubus 'Wyoming'
The hardiest of the black raspberries, it ripens in July and does not sucker. It has a pleasing flavour and is firmer than a red raspberry. Expect a crop of fruit in the second year after planting.

Saskatoon, "Lee #8"
Lee #8 is a cross between the Thiessen and the Northline Saskatoons. It has very consistent fruiting, yields a good crop of tasty berries. The fruit are 1 cm across, dark purple in colour, and will ripen in July. The plant has white blooms in spring and a fantastic fall colour of orange/red. Saskatoons are also known to have a life span of 50 years and are a very hardy fruit for our prairies!

Saskatoon, "Nelson"
Has large fruit that is 1 cm across, dark purple in colour, and will ripen in July. Nelson has fewer seeds and a nice tangy flavour. The plant has white blooms in spring, flowering 3-7 days later than other cultivars, which helps avoid late spring frost; its fall colour is orange-red. Saskatoons are also known to have a life span of 50 years and are a very hardy fruit for our prairies!
